Having five or so (depending on the issue) columns each month to handle—aside from my feature articles—demands a lot of attention to detail and time management. It’s the type of work that cultivated my respect for deadlines and proper planning.

Working on these columns

With these varying column formats, some being research-intensive, the only consistent way to tackle them would be planning way in advance, and tackling them one at a time.

This was especially true when it came to events listing, where I had to rely on information and images sent in by the organisers.
